UK Court Interpreting
R L Translations specialises in providing professional, qualified interpreters for court hearings, tribunals, arbitration and meetings at solicitors' offices. All our court interpreters are listed on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) and/or hold a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI).
Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights protects an individual's right to a fair trial, which includes the right to understand any legal case made against them. In cases involving a person who is not a native speaker of the language of the court, a fully qualified interpreter is required to ensure that there are no misunderstandings between the parties, the judge and the jury. Otherwise a mistrial may occur.
Our court interpreters are impartial and abide by strict rules of confidentiality. They will convey the exact meaning of what is said without adding, omitting or changing anything and give an explanation only where a cultural misunderstanding may be occurring, or where there is no direct equivalent for a particular term. They act ethically and professionally at all times and always dress and behave appropriately.
With access to more than 1000 qualified interpreters, we can provide court interpreters anywhere in the UK.
